“We don’t just do what’s easy, we do what’s right.”
And then there were three! I hope you are all having a great week and this message finds you in good health and good spirits! In case you were wondering what “and then there were three” means… we are down to our final three contestants for the 15 Day 25K Contest!
That is correct. Since July 11, 2022, we have received tens of thousands of entries. We picked three Weekly Winners until we had a group of 36 over the course of 12 weeks. We then chose the Top 10 a few weeks ago, and with the help of the public, we narrowed it down to three contestants. Next week, we’ll head to the finals in Orlando, Florida, where one of our contestants will walk away with $25,000, and so will the coach who inspired the winner to enter! Pretty cool, right?
It has been an amazing process, and it has been an honor to be a part of it for me and so many others. It has also been kind of hard, too! Many will see the final reveal on November 12 and will not realize the work that it took to reach that point. First off, let’s start with the contestants.
The final three have had to work on themselves physically throughout this entire season. They have also had to submit their before and after pictures publicly. The three of them entered a private coaching group with Evan as well. They also shared their true stories publicly, attended so many interviews, and submitted so many pictures and videos just to get to this point. In addition, they have had to remain consistent over a long period of time. It’s definitely not an easy thing to do.
On the TLC side, it has not been easy either. Sifting through the thousands of entries. Setting up the 10 interviews every week, picking the three finalists, and then doing three more pre-interviews with them. Setting up and broadcasting the show where we share their stories, making the video content, and promoting it. Collecting and organizing images of the contestants and their families. All these things happened every week for 12 weeks.
Not only that, but it also had to be done with the same amount of effort and preparation each week. I haven’t even mentioned all the work that went into this contest before it launched. That was intense, too! So why am I telling you all this? Am I asking for your sympathy for us? Am I bragging about what an awesome team we have? The answer to that is NO.
The reason I am sharing this with you is that no matter how hard this has been, we have continued on with full vigor every week. The beauty of it all and the number of people it has helped will help make this worth it, and for us, that is the right thing to do.
Next week, we will travel to Orlando to prepare and share these three stories on a big stage for a big prize. The preparation that is going on for the next two weeks and the travel that is involved along with the practice will not be easy. Aside from all of that, though, it will be worth it! It has been a blessing to us on the team and to so many in the world, and we are grateful.
Have I mentioned that as of this week, we started this whole thing again for a second time? Yup, that’s right! We are doing this AGAIN for 12 weeks and adding new countries to the contest this time! Again, this will not be easy. It will actually be harder this time, but it is the right thing to do!
At TLC, we have been told and taught to not do what’s easy but to do what’s right, and this $25,000 contest is a great example of it. When great people get together and decide they want to do what’s right, they seem to forget how hard it is and usually also change the world in the process. On November 12, the world will hear who wins our contest, but today, I remind you that we have all already won. This is simply because we have chosen to do the right thing over and over again, even if it’s hard!
