“Grateful is our mindset.”

Tomorrow is Veterans Day in the United States of America. Veterans day is celebrated every year on November 11th. This is a public holiday that honors all that have served in the military for the U.S.A. There are also other holidays worldwide like Armistice Day in France, which celebrates the end of World War I. Other countries around the globe celebrate Remembrance Day on November 11th.

All these holidays celebrate gratefulness in different ways. Veterans Day is the day we show gratitude to all the men and women that have served in the military. Armistice Day is a day that shows appreciation that hostilities (war) are over. Remembrance Day reminds many to be grateful for those who died serving their countries, making sure others could live!

I was reminded earlier in the week that this holiday was approaching. I have been thinking about it, and my thoughts have been filled with gratitude. I reminded myself this morning that I woke up in a warm bed and with a roof over my head because brave men and women are making sure that I have that luxury. I will never meet them, but I am very grateful for all of them. I will always respect and be thankful for what they have done for my family and me, and I will pray for them often.

Many ceremonies will take place around the world tomorrow, and many people will be showing their gratitude. I challenge you to remind yourself this week to be grateful for those that serve and protect us as well.

I also have another challenge for you. I challenge you to be grateful for everything great in your life. Be thankful for the people in your life with great vision who have guided you or inspired you. Be grateful for the clean drinking water you have access to or the warm meals you eat daily without thinking about it. Be thankful for your parents even if you’re estranged from them because they gave you life. Be thankful for the sun and the clouds and all the other beautiful things around us.

Veterans Day is a great reminder to be grateful for others, and I will be showing my gratitude on that day. For me, this week has also been a great reminder to be thankful, period. I hear so many people complain about minor things, and I am guilty of it as well. Should we be complaining in the big picture, or should we be grateful for everything we have?

Life is challenging and unpredictable. This causes us to become frustrated or upset sometimes, negatively impacting our lives unless we frequently remind ourselves to be grateful. Sometimes we do an excellent job of reminding ourselves, and sometimes, someone like me must remind you. Regardless, being reminded to be grateful is the greatest reminder we can give, but only if we are willing to accept it.

Here at TLC, we remind each other to be grateful every day. We are also lucky because even if we forget to remind each other, our core values are posted everywhere, which remind us daily anyway. Our mindset in this community is a grateful one, and because of it, our focus is usually counting the many blessings we have around us.

If you’re looking to have less stress and anxiety, I have the cure for you. Gratitude! Just do your best to remind yourself as frequently as possible what you are grateful for, and I promise you that your life will be great! Being grateful all the time will improve your mood, your health, and even your relationships.

I am grateful that I’ve chosen to be part of this community with me each of you. I can’t imagine myself being in any other place but here. I am overwhelmed with gratitude when I remind myself how many people engage with me daily and read this message every week. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I want you to know I’m grateful for you.

Thank you again to all the men and women who have served to ensure my family and I are safe and comfortable. In addition, thank you to everyone who wakes up every morning and decides they will do their best to make the world a better place. I am in solidarity with you, and I would love to help you do the same!

Thank you for reading this week, and please be grateful every day because every day is not guaranteed!
