“We don’t just do what’s easy, we do what’s right.”

Today is a special day! Today is the birthday of a great man, and his name is Scott Bania! I decided that the right thing to do today is write about him. It was a pretty easy decision.

For those of you who don’t know, Mr. Scott Bania is our chief communications officer. He has been a great friend and a great member of our staff here at TLC. Many of us have had some great memories with Scott, and I am sure we will have many, many more.

Scott has been part of TLC for more than a decade. He started his TLC journey in the same way I did. He answered the cry for help from a friend named Jack (just like I did). We needed someone to help with marketing, and although Scott was a full-time teacher and had a family with young kids, he said yes.

It was not easy for Scott, but he did what he could when he could, and eventually, he became a very valuable part of our team. Late nights, early mornings, and weekends were all sacrificed by Scott so he could get the job done, and he always did. We started getting busier and busier over the next several years, and Scott did something that is definitely not easy but in his mind was the right thing to do.

Scott decided to leave the stability and security of his full-time teaching position with Detroit Public Schools and take a leap of faith with TLC. This was definitely a hard decision for him and his family, I am sure. I even personally told Scott he should think about it a little more before he made a final decision, but his mind was made up.

He decided the right thing to do was be here at TLC with all of us. He must have really felt that it was the right thing to do, and he never looked back. Taking a leap of faith is never easy in life, and I gained much respect for Scott when he did this. I, and all of us, gained a hard-working, dedicated, and enthusiastic member of our team whom we didn’t have to share with another employer anymore!

Scott Bania continues to be a huge reason why TLC has been successful and will continue to be successful. I always know that we can count on Scott to get the job done no matter what because he always has.

To celebrate Scott’s birthday today, I challenge you to send him an email, a text, or stop by his office and wish him a happy birthday and let him know he is loved. If you have known Scott for a while, please share your favorite memory with him.

Publicly and personally from me, I would like to say… happy birthday, Scott!  You are a good man I can always count on. I admire you as a father, a husband, a friend, and a co-worker.

I love you, and I am happy that you help us share the TLC gospel to the world on a daily basis! TLC would never be the same without you and without you, TLC wouldn’t be TLC! May God continue to bless you and your family always.

Thank you for reading everyone, and have a great week!
