Typically, it’s best to use distilled water with the TLEO Aroma Diffuser. However, if you don’t have any, tap water is fine (just be sure to clean the diffuser after each use). Now, take care not to overfill. The diffuser uses up to 250 mL per session. Next, add up to 10 drops of your favorite TLEO single, TLEO blend, or use a customized recipe, and enjoy for up to seven hours.
Don’t worry – if you get lost in the beneficial meditation that aromatherapy offers and forget to turn off the unit, the TLEO Aroma Diffuser has an auto shut-off feature. When all water is dispersed from the central well, the unit will power down.
To keep your reliable aromatherapy friend working properly and to extend its life, be sure to really clean the TLEO Aroma Diffuser between uses – you don’t want one scent or recipe you’ve just used to interfere with a new one.
Always power down and remove the power cord before cleaning. When not in use, or when you’re about to clean, empty all water from the central well and dry it with a reusable microfiber cloth. It’s important to do a quick cleaning of the well after each use to prevent slime or mold, and buildup, including microbes or bacteria. Leaving a scant amount of water in the well for any extended time invites “ookie” invaders.
Now, cleaning can be as simple as dunking a cotton ball in fresh water, squeezing it out, then dunking it in distilled white vinegar and squeezing it out. Next, give the diffuser’s central well a thorough swipe – up, down, and all around – and make sure to get down into the misting vent. Allow the unit to air dry.
For that deeper cleaning when you know it’s time, simply fill the central well halfway with water and add 1 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar. Run the unit for 5-10 minutes. The vinegar will work its way through the components of the diffuser. Empty the well. Wash any of the unit’s loose components (not the power cord) in the sink with warm water and a mild dish soap. Give the inside of the central well and the misting vent a good swipe with another cotton ball soaked with water and vinegar, as you would in your daily cleaning method. Allow everything to air dry.
